”Guardians Deities” Sumie, Ink Painting Exhibition

Art & Culture

Japanese Ink painting (Sumie) exhibition showing legendary deities protecting famous world landmarks. Displayed on the walls at Kyushu Japanese Restaurant, Neutral Bay.

The world is suffering through the chaos of war, a pandemic and climate change. I’ve drawn four “Guardian Deities” ink paintings. The Guardians are fictitious divine animals with wishes and prayers for the world.

There are many temples and shrines in Japan. Each Guardian Deity has a region they protect. Unfortunately, there isn’t much chance to see them in Australia. I hope Australian audiences will feel a connection with the Guardian Deities and can find peace in these art works.

A part of art sales goes as a donation to NPO, which is supporting people and the environment affected by natural disasters.
