Enjoy otoro (Bluefin tuna) with flower viewing

Food & Drink

“Sushi Kaido” in Sydney is hosting a limited-time event from Tuesday, September 12th to Sunday, September 17th 2023! The indoor flower viewing will end on September 17th, but the Otoro Festival will be held until Sunday, September 24th. During this period, the entire restaurant will be decorated with fresh flowers, allowing guests to enjoy the atmosphere of cherry blossom viewing while savouring the Bluefin tuna farmed in Malta, Spain.

Following the highly acclaimed events of the past two years, we are delighted to announce the return of our popular event featuring Bluefin tuna farmed in Malta, Spain. This year, over 100kg of Bluefin tuna will undergo rapid freezing at -60℃ to preserve its freshness before being delivered directly to Australia.

During the event, the restaurant will be adorned with pale pink flowers, creating an ambiance that makes you feel as if you’re dining under cherry blossom trees. Indulge in the luxurious Bluefin tuna and a wide variety of sushi menu options in a photogenic setting enveloped in cherry blossom hues. There’s no other opportunity quite like this to enjoy a panoramic flower viewing while savouring exquisite dishes.

The floral arrangements in the restaurant are created by Saori Tatsuno, a florist based in the Gold Coast who also works in Brisbane and Byron Bay. With 16 years of experience, Saori specialises in traditional Japanese Kado as well as modern Japanese and delicate European floral designs. She has undertaken a wide range of flower arrangements and installations for various events.

Fresh and melt-in-your-mouth otoro (fatty tuna) nigiri, offered in sets of 2 pieces, will be available at prices ranging from $18 to $30. The distinguishing factor of otoro lies in its rich flavour, making it the most coveted cut. With its exquisite texture and deep umami, otoro is considered the pinnacle of tuna quality, sourced from the finest Bluefin tuna. Treat yourself to the luxurious experience of savouring otoro sushi nigiri.

Located just a 5-minute walk from Chatswood Station, “Sushi Kaido” offers a diverse selection of sushi, featuring not only otoro but also rare ingredients like white fish and shellfish, accompanied by a variety of side dishes. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience the special event combining flower viewing and sushi in this picturesque and photogenic space, regardless of the weather or season.

We are all looking forward to seeing you.
